Out of Service

This here is a poem I’ve written just today about complacency. I’ll admit that I’ve been a bit reliant on others with certain aspects of my life, but I’m doing my best to not make these mistakes any longer. I hope that this poem of mine will be a motivation for you today.

Does this look like the time to waste your days?

Do you think you’ll always be where you’re at,

and never expected to be more?

No good thing will ever just fall in your lap,

You have to get out there and reach for it.

Climb the ladder that many will try to get you to fall off,

And shut the mouths of those who said you’d never make it.

It’s never a good idea to get comfortable,

especially when you know there’s something in you

that wants to be more.

Be the you that no one expected,

be the change that you’ve been waiting for.

Always choose the right,

never turn to the easy way out.

Sometimes all you’ll have is you,

so don’t wait for a door to be opened,

get up and open it yourself.
